Description

Inspired by the traditional Japanese folding screen from which it takes its name, BYŌBU is a living area system that reinterprets the concept of the equipped wall with refined restraint, turning the vertical surface into an architectural composition of rhythm, material, and light. The graphic rigor of the fluted wood panels, defined by delicate vertical grooves, is complemented by the evocative strength of the central mirrored section: a sequence of reflective elements that expand the space, multiply perspectives, and elegantly frame the antique marble fireplace—a symbolic bridge between historical memory and a contemporary vision of living. The composition of BYŌBU strikes a perfect balance between solid and void, between the warmth of matte finishes and the vibrancy of reflections. It defines a high-aesthetic storage system that disappears into the wall, only to reveal itself in all its functional complexity. The absence of handles, the modular rhythm, and the continuity of surfaces all contribute to a visual language that is essential yet rich with material and cultural nuance. Fully customizable and seamlessly integrable with other elements in the collection, BYŌBU adapts effortlessly to both living and more private spaces, assuming the role of a scenic backdrop or a concealed cabinet—an object that embodies harmony, elegance, and identity within the home.
